How are the Books Arranged?

Dewey Decimal Classification    |   Library of Congress Classification

The main circulating collection is located upstairs. The reference collection, which does not circulate, includes encyclopedias and dictionaries. Current journals, periodicals, and newspapers are located on the first floor.

The library uses the Library of Congress Classification (LLC). Since not all patrons are familiar with LLC, tables have been created to help you search for specific subjects in both the Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal classification schemes.

Please ask a library staff member if you need assistance locating a particular book or item. You can also use our email reference service "Ask-A-Librarian " if you are not in the library.
