ILL Request Form

Frequently Asked Questions

Who may use the InterLibrary Loan services?

Currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff may request materials through our ILL services.

How do I request books or articles via InterLibrary Loan?

Before making an ILL request check the library and make sure the material is not available either on our shelves or in electronic format through a database. If the material is missing or checked out, please indicate that on your ILL request.

Requests can be made at the RCW Library circulation desk. Request forms are available during all building hours. Print clearly all the requested information on the ILL form. Alternatively, you may fill out a Request Form.

Please include the most information possible in your requests.

How long will it take and how will I know when the materials arrive?

Please allow 10 days to 2 weeks for the material to arrive. When the materials arrive the patron will be notified, however, you may call (903) 983-8239 to inquire about the materials arrival.

Is there a limit to the number of requests I can make?

Students may request a maximum of three (3) per semester. Faculty and staff are not limited.

Receiving and returning ILL materials

You may collect materials at the Circulation desk in the RCW Library located on the first floor. Return the materials at the same place.

Are there fines for ILL materials?

Photocopied articles that you receive through Interlibrary Loan are yours to keep. However, books MUST be returned ON TIME! There is a $.25 per item per day fine for overdue books. Students returning books more than 5 days late will forfeit their ILL loan privileges for one semester, and the fine and a HOLD will be placed on their record until it is cleared. A $5.00 fee will be charged for loans not picked up within 30 days of notice, which will generated a HOLD on the student record.

Can I lose my ILL borrowing privileges?

As stated in our ILL policy, the Randolph C. Watson Library reserves the right to suspend or withdraw interlibrary loan services because of patron abuse, (e.g., consistently returning material late, excessive loss of material, etc). The parameters of the RCW Library ILL service are governed by current copyright law and guidelines, the National InterLibrary Loan Code, the lending library's policy, and the RCW Library policies and procedures.

Can I renew a book obtained via InterLibrary Loan?

Interlibrary loans may be renewed only with the consent of the lending library. Please give InterLibrary Loan Services a 48 hour notice if you desire to renew a book. You may use a Renewal Form.
